South Korea's president has declared martial law

South Korean President Yun Seok-yol announced the introduction of martial law. This was reported by the Korean agency "Ryonhap" on December 3.

It is noted that the reason for the measure is the threat of paralysis of power due to attempts to conduct impeachment proceedings against him.

Also, the Ministry of National Defense of South Korea held a meeting of the chief commanders of the armed forces and instructed to strengthen combat readiness. In addition, it is reported about the urgent convocation of lawmakers to the National Assembly of the opposition Democratic Party.

Earlier, on November 27, the South Korean presidential administration said that Yun met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who arrived in Seoul, with whom he discussed countering cooperation between Russia and the DPRK.
