The FCS commented on reports about the ban on the passage of air conditioners in Russia

Customs authorities ensure compliance with prohibitions and restrictions on goods moving across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was reported to "Izvestia" in the Federal Customs Service (FCS) on December 3, commenting on reports about the cessation of the passage of equipment filled with a special cooling mixture, namely air conditioners, industrial and household refrigerators.

Kommersant reported earlier in the day that the FCS had stopped letting through equipment filled with a special cooling mixture .

"In accordance with the regulation on the importation into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union and exportation from the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union of ozone-depleting substances and products containing ozone-depleting substances, the importation of products specified in List D of Section 1.1, containing substances specified in lists A, B, C and E of section 1.1 and in section 2.1, is carried out in the presence of a license issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in coordination with Rosprirodnadzor, or the conclusion (permit document) of Rosprirodnadzor, depending on the chosen customs procedure", - noted in the service.

Anton Guskov, a representative of the RATEK association, told Izvestia that now up to 90% of air conditioners must be licensed for import, although it used to be 10%. According to him, it is long and expensive to obtain such licenses, it takes up to 3-4 months, because of which the import of air conditioners to Russia may be suspended for some period of time, which may lead to their deficit in the market.
