Former Spartak player Ari became Torpedo's sports director


Former Spartak and Lokomotiv player Ariklenes da Silva Ferreira, also known as Ari, has become the sporting director of Moscow soccer club Torpedo. Torpedo announced this on December 3 on its website.
"Football club Torpedo Moscowofficially announces the appointment of 38-year-old specialist Ariklenes da Silva Ferreira (Ari) as sporting director of the Black and Whites. Welcome to our club!" - is said in the team's message.
Ari was born in 1985 in Brazil and started his professional soccer career in the club Fortaleza. In addition to his native country, he played for teams in Sweden and the Netherlands, and since 2010 he played for clubs in the Russian Premier League (RPL).
In different years, Ari played for Spartak, Krasnodar and Lokomotiv, as part of the latter he became the champion of the Russian Federation in the season-2017/18. In addition, in July 2018, the footballer received Russian citizenship, and in November of the same year he played two matches of the Russian national team against Germany and Sweden.
Earlier, on October 9, Belarusian ex-footballer and coach Viktor Goncharenko became the new coach of soccer club Pari Nizhny Novgorod. He has been working in Russia since 2013 and headed such teams as Kuban, Ufa, Krasnodar and CSKA.
