In Germany, 100-year-old former guard of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp Gregor Formanek may stand trial on criminal charges of complicity in the murder of 3.3 thousand people. This was reported by Bild on December 3.
"It is said that the former SS man Formanek supported the "cruel and insidious murder of thousands of prisoners" in the concentration camp Sachsenhausen near Oranienburg (Brandenburg) in the period from July 1943 to February 1945," - stated in the publication.
According to the publication, earlier the court closed the criminal case, pointing to the permanent inability of the defendant to participate in the process due to health problems. However, on October 22, the Frankfurt court granted the appeals, sending the case for a new trial in the same court.
