Dmitry Vinogradov, the father of four children who died of dichlofos poisoning in Krasnoyarsk region, told "Izvestia" on December 3 the details of the tragedy.

The man admitted that he used a toxic insect repellent, but does not believe that dichlofos could have caused such poisoning.

He noted that "everyone in the village uses dichlofos" and that the family had done it many times before. According to Vinogradov, the reason for the poisoning could have been defective dichlofos or low-quality food, but the expertise has not yet found anything.

"Everyone went outside. I sprayed evenly over all the rooms. Dichlofos is small. The windows opened then for an hour and a half or two hours approximately, or maybe more. Then I came in - there was no odor," he clarified the details of the incident.

The man specified that that evening, after airing all the rooms, the family members came home, had dinner together and went to bed. Everyone felt well. But the next morning both children and parents felt acute indisposition.

On the day of the tragedy, the whole family ate dumplings, Vinogradov said. He also admitted that the poisonous agent could have gotten on the dishes left in the kitchen sink when the agent was sprayed.

"Maybe some dirty plate that was not loaded [into the dishwasher], not washed, was left [in the sink]," the father of the dead children suggested.

Earlier in the day, the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported that the father of the children killed by dichlofos poisoning near Krasnoyarsk was charged with causing death by negligence, and the man pleaded guilty. According to the agency, the man had treated the house with insect repellent, but failed to follow recommendations for protective measures and allowed the children to eat in the contaminated room. The next morning, all family members felt a sharp deterioration of health and were hospitalized.

The poisoning of a family with four children in the village of Krasnaya Sopka in Krasnoyarsk Krai was reported on September 21. The family sought medical help at the hospital with signs of nausea and vomiting. As a result of a sharp deterioration of health, the minor brother and sister died. Later, on September 22, the third child died, and on the 23rd - the fourth. In the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region said that at the time of the incident, the mother of the dead children was nine months pregnant.

December 2, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the cause of poisoning was the improper use of dichlofos. According to the agency, poisons from dichlophos, which was chaotically sprayed by the head of the family, got on all surfaces of the house and things. According to experts, insecticides on clothes, toys and household items caused the death of the minors.
