Liksutov spoke about the pilot project at the city's new charging stations

Charging sessions tariff has been launched at 39 new EZSs installed in Moscow as part of a pilot project. Payment for them will be directed to the development of the relevant urban infrastructure, while the previously installed EHSs will remain free of charge, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transportation and Industry.
"Today the project "Energy of Moscow" is 290 charging stations in 100 districts of the capital. In order to accelerate the development of charging infrastructure and the growth of the electric car fleet, we launched a pilot project to introduce charging session tariff at 39 new urban charging stations in 15 districts of the city", - said Liksutov.
According to him, in this way increases "the investment attractiveness of the project to further develop the charging infrastructure in the capital on the task of the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin".
Within the framework of the pilot project the recommended tariff of 20 rubles/kWh will be in effect. At such tariffs, charging an electric car will cost less per kilometer of mileage compared to conventional cars.
According to the capital's Deptrans, Muscovites' expenses for gasoline amount to 6 thousand rubles per month - this is 28% more compared to the cost of charging an electric car at the recommended rates.
The deputy mayor added that the introduction of the tariff will allow to increase the number of charging stations faster in order to provide for the increasing fleet of electric cars. According to the forecast, up to 30 thousand charging stations will be needed in the capital by 2030.
The decision on tariffication of all charging stations will be made based on the results of the pilot project. At the same time, a number of benefits for owners of electric cars are planned to be preserved: for example, they will continue to be exempt from paying transportation tax and can use city parking lots for free.
Over the four years of the Energy of Moscow project, owners of electric cars have made more than 700 thousand charging sessions, of which almost 400 thousand in 2024.
