In the southwestern province of the Democratic Republic of Congo 143 people have died of an unknown disease. This was reported by Reuters on December 3.
Deputy Governor of Kwango province Remi Saki and the head of the local Ministry of Health Apollinaire Yumba on the eve reported that the infected were found to have flu symptoms, including high fever and severe headaches.
It is specified that a medical team was sent to the zone to conduct tests to detect the disease. At the same time, the number of infected continues to grow.
In June, an outbreak of cholera was registered in the French Mayotte. It was specified that 21 cases were brought to the island, and the remaining 172 were the result of infection within the region. In addition, two deaths were registered.
