The School of Digital Technologies opened in Nizhny Novgorod

The School 21 campus was opened in Nizhny Novgorod, Sberbank's press service said.
The opening ceremony was attended by Sberbank President and Chairman of the Management Board Herman Gref and Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin.
"Today is a very important day both for us and for Nizhny Novgorod - one of the most advanced cities in the country in terms of the development of modern technologies, microelectronics, IT. Gleb Sergeyevich Nikitin and I have long agreed that School 21 will appear here. Today we are opening a campus in the building of a Western company that left, and now Sber's engineers are working here - in this sense, the leadership competence is successfully preserved in Nizhny Novgorod. I would like to thank the governor for his active participation, because it is largely thanks to his initiative and energy that we were able to realize this project. I would like to say a word of gratitude to our entire team that worked here. Now talented and motivated children from any corner of Nizhny Novgorod region can get a demanded profession here free of charge and on a convenient schedule," said German Gref.
"School 21" in Nizhny Novgorod is designed for 200 workstations. It is planned that 900 people will be selected annually, and 200 participants will start basic training. Among those wishing to study at the school are 84% of Nizhny Novgorod residents, as well as residents of the Penza, Kostroma, Vladimir, Kirov and Murmansk regions.
"We are the third region after Moscow and St. Petersburg in terms of the number of IT workers in the country. But at the same time we feel the deficit of IT personnel - we need them incredibly. We have already had the opportunity to assess the level of specialists who graduate from School 21. I have noted for myself the amazing level of concentration of efforts on what is really important. This is really a new evolutionary approach to education," said Gleb Nikitin, Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Today, 220 people are studying at the new 2,660 m² campus. The average age of the participants is 29 years old.
