More and more people understand what the true origins of the conflict in Ukraine unleashed by Western elites are. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 3 in his greeting to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the creators of the film "People of Christ. Our Time", as well as guests of the Russian premiere.
The head of state noted that there is no and will never be an excuse for crimes against civilians, terrorist attacks and punitive actions organized by neo-Nazis.
"It is important that more and more people in the world realize what the true origins of the conflict in Ukraine, unleashed by Western elites, are. That there is no and there will never be any justification for crimes against peaceful citizens, ethnic, religious cleansing, terrorist attacks and punitive actions organized by neo-Nazis," the president said in a statement on the Kremlin website.
Putin also pointed out that the footage of the movie gives hope that by preserving solidarity and values bequeathed to us by our ancestors, it is possible to respond to any challenges with dignity.
"Created by our Serbian friends, this film is a documentary evidence of the tragic events taking place in Ukraine, associated with massive violations of the rights and religious freedoms of millions of people, a real abuse of historical memory, persecution of the Orthodox Church by the Kiev regime," he assessed the documentary about the persecution of the canonical Orthodox Church in Ukraine, filmed by Serbian director Emir Kusturica.
Earlier, on November 24, Patriarch Kirill awarded Kusturica with the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov of the first degree for his contribution to the preservation of traditional values. He also congratulated the author on his 70th birthday.
Before that, on September 18, in Serbia, the premiere of the documentary "People of Christ. Our Time." The film is devoted to the fate of Christianity in the modern world, including the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) by the Kiev authorities.
