Two Primorye residents to be tried for illegally catching more than 400 crabs

The Transportation Prosecutor's Office approved an indictment against two local residents who were engaged in illegal crab fishing. The case materials have been sent to court.

According to PrimaMedia IA, in May 2023, the men were fishing in the waters of the Sea of Japan near the Terneisky municipal district. Using crab traps they caught 439 specimens of Kamchatka and blue crabs. The damage is estimated at more than 6 million rubles.

The criminal actions were stopped by the FSB officers. The property of the accused was seized. The materials of the criminal case have been sent to court.

In the Sakhalin region three local residents will be tried, who are accused of catching almost 700 chum and pink salmon. The damage is estimated at 2.7 million rubles.
