The Russian Armed Forces (AF) have carried out strikes on energy facilities of the military-industrial complex (MIC) and infrastructure of Ukrainian military airfields. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 3.

"Operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, missile troops and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation struck the energy facilities that support the work of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, the infrastructure of military airfields," the ministry said in a statement.

In addition, the Russian army struck at accumulations of the AFU's manpower and military equipment in 142 areas.

The Russian Air Defense Forces shot down 40 Ukrainian drones during the day, four of them were eliminated outside the special operation zone.

The Defense Ministry added that since the beginning of the special operation, the Russian military destroyed 649 aircraft, 19,600 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 18,897 field artillery guns and mortars, almost 29,000 military vehicles and many other weapons of the AFU of Ukrainian and Western manufacture.

At the same time, the ministry said that the Southern group of troops liberated the village of Romanovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), and the Vostok group of troops liberated Novodorovka in the Zaporizhzhya region.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry showed the combat work of the 240-millimeter self-propelled mortar "Tulpan" of the Vostok group of troops, which stopped the AFU counterattack in the special operation zone. The Ukrainian military counted on the effect of surprise, but the fire of the "Tulpan" eliminated it, and the AFU had to retreat. Mortar fighters said that they hit large mines on firing points, platoon strongholds and well concreted dugouts of the enemy.

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
