Putin instructed to start a program to attract physical education teachers to villages

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to start implementing the Zemsky Coach program in 2025, which aims to attract physical education teachers to rural areas. The list of instructions of the head of state, approved following a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, is published on the Kremlin website.

"<...> to take measures aimed at the implementation of the program "Zemsky Coach" starting from 2025, providing, among other things, for the attraction of qualified coaches-teachers, instructors-methodists, instructors in sports, instructors in adaptive physical culture to work in rural areas and small towns," the document approved on November 29 reads.

The President also instructed to increase the share of domestic sports products in the procurement of goods for state and municipal needs and to stimulate demand for such products in non-governmental organizations working in the field of physical culture and sports.

The government should fulfill these instructions with the participation of local self-government bodies. The head of state has appointed Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin and top officials of the subjects of the Russian Federation to be responsible for the implementation. The instructions must be executed by March 1, 2025.

Earlier, on October 17, Putin paid a working visit to Ufa and opened six sports facilities in Bashkiria, Perm Krai, Nizhny Novgorod, Tula and Sakhalin regions. The head of state emphasized that all citizens of Russia - adults and children - should be involved in sports and it is important to provide them with the opportunity to exercise regularly.

Prior to that, on August 10, the President drew attention to the fact that Russia is famous for "strong, victorious traditions of the physical culture movement". In addition, the country pays much attention to the construction of modern and accessible sports infrastructure.
