Media reported a new cable break between Sweden and Finland

Between Sweden and Finland there was a new break in the telecommunication cable. This was reported on December 3 by Swedish tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet, citing sources.

"There has been a new cable break on the internet line between Sweden and Finland. The break was discovered last night and is reported to have occurred in Finland on land," the report said.

The Finnish and Swedish sides have been informed and are investigating the incident.

Thebreakage of the communication cable laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Sweden became known on November 18. It was preliminarily determined that the cable was cut, and an investigation is underway. The company Telia Lietuva said that the damaged cable is quite old and there have already been several accidents with it.

Also on that day, the C-Lion1 telecommunications cable, which runs under the Baltic Sea between Finland and Germany, was cut. Cinia, a fiber optic network construction company, informed the media that the cable had been cut. It was clarified that customers have been informed, repairs have begun and will take up to 15 days. The German and Finnish Foreign Ministries said in a joint statement that they were investigating the incident.
