Medinsky revealed details of talks between Russia and Ukraine in 2022

Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, which took place in 2022, were disrupted due to Kiev's unwillingness to sign the finished agreement. Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky revealed the new details on December 2 after a press conference dedicated to the presentation of the complete collection of the Russian Historical Encyclopedia.
"There are a few touches left on paper. Everything, the treaty of almost 20 pages with annexes was printed out and put into the hands of the leaders of the countries. From our side, the main provisions of this treaty were accepted. Ukraine renounced everything. From all agreements. All the work of the negotiating group went to waste," RBC quoted him as saying.
Medinsky also expressed hope that the administration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump "will approach this issue with the desire to preserve peace in the world, and not to fuel" conflicts and push Ukraine to self-destruction.
Earlier, on November 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a press conference following his state visit to Kazakhstan that Russia was ready for negotiations on Ukraine on the previous terms. The head of state drew attention to the fact that there are no preconditions for the start of dialog now, but there are conditions for peace.
The last round of talks between Russia and Ukraine took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4 of the same year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose powers expired in May 2024, put into effect the decision of the country's National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of holding talks with Putin.
