A German court has sentenced to terms of up to 10 years four teenagers convicted of murdering Ukrainian athletes - 18-year-old basketball player Volodymyr Yermakov and 18-year-old footballer Oleksandr Kozachenko. This was reported on December 2 by the publication WDR.

Four defendants in the case were sentenced to terms from 8.5 to 10 years in prison.

"Two defendants should be in a juvenile colony for 10 years each, the other two - 8.5 years," - stated in the material.

The accused were with the victims on the same bus before the crime. One of the four teenagers admitted to stabbing, the others said they were involved in the beatings. Also in the court noted that the verdicts are not yet final. It is specified that the trial was held in closed format.

Earlier, on February 12, it was reported that in Oberhausen killed 17-year-old Ukrainian basketball player Vladimir Ermakov. The Basketball Federation of Kiev specified that Yermakov was attacked by a group of unknown people who attacked him and another Ukrainian player Artem Kozachenko. The second athlete was hospitalized. He later died of his injuries.

One of the attackers was a 15-year-old schoolboy of German-Turkish origin. It was specified that the Germans and Ukrainians had a conflict on the bus. On February 20, it became known that the hospitalized athlete died. Both young men played for the German team Art Giants.
