Lawyer lists categories of pensioners with indexed pensions in 2025

In 2025, there will be two major indexation of pensions, which will affect some categories of pensioners. This was told on December 3 by Associate Professor of the Department of Labor and Social Law of St. Petersburg State University Fatima Nogailieva in an interview with the agency "Prime".

She specified that from April 1, 2025 there will be indexation of state pension and social pensions by 14.75%. These figures will be record-breaking.

Social pensions will be able to get those pensioners who have not yet accumulated the length of service to receive an insurance pension. In addition, disabled people and those who have lost the breadwinner will fall under this category.

The level of indexation of insurance pension, according to the lawyer, will be equal to the inflation rate for 2024 and will amount to 7.3%.

In addition, from 2025 the Social Fund will again index the pensions of working pensioners. The level of payments will be the same as for non-working pensioners, taking into account inflation.

"The base for the 2025 indexation for working pensioners will be the pension that could have been received taking into account all missed increases during the years of work," Nogailieva said.

She also reported that the increase in 2025 will be calculated taking into account all previous indexations of the period from 2016 to 2024. The amount of indexation will be available only after the official completion of labor activity.

Earlier, on December 1, the director of the professional legal group AID lawyer David Adams said that from 2025, Russian pensioners can count on positive changes in their financial support due to innovations in the pension system and the expansion of social benefits.
