Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces assisted in the reconstruction of a school in the border region of Kursk Oblast

Servicemen of the separate Guards motorized rifle brigade of the "North" group of troops are helping to restore a school damaged after Ukrainian shelling in the Lgovsky district of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 3.

"The naked eye can see that the school was badly damaged, almost all the windows, and we have 93 of them, were left without glass," - said the school director Nina Aseeva.

The agency said that practically no one lives in the settlement itself. Teachers come to the school on their day off to prepare the building for winter. Soldiers of a motorized rifle unit from the Murmansk region are helping to restore the educational institution after the militants' strikes on civilian infrastructure and civilians.

"It is necessary for future children to study later, when all this is over," - a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces with the call sign Miyagi.

Russian fighters are also defending populated areas from attacks by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

The Defense Ministry added that units of a separate motorized rifle brigade from the "North" troop grouping are fighting in one of the directions and driving the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) out of the territories of the border areas of Kursk Region, destroying the enemy's military equipment and manpower, as well as monitoring the actions of Ukrainian militants with the help of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of airplane and quadrocopter type, identifying the main resistance nodes in order to knock the enemy out of the equipped positions as soon as possible.

Earlier, on November 13, the mayor of Gorlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), Ivan Prikhodko, reported that an educational building and a store were damaged in the city due to the AFU shelling. According to the mayor, the Ukrainian attack also damaged a store located in the city center and de-energized the settlement of the Kirov machine-building plant.

Prior to that, on October 14, Prikhodko said that a school was damaged as a result of cluster shelling by the AFU in the Nikitovsky district of Horlivka. "Izvestia" published footage of the aftermath of the attack.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the AFU units that invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
