TheUSA plans to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with thousands of missiles and shells by the end of January. This was announced by the US President's National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on December 2.

"Between now and mid-January, we will deliver hundreds of thousands of additional artillery shells, thousands of additional missiles and other critical weapons to help Ukraine," he said.

In addition to military aid to Kiev, current US President Joe Biden plans to reinforce Ukraine with "a series of additional measures." Sullivan specified that the list of these measures includes the already announced authorization to strike Russian territories with long-range missiles and new anti-Russian sanctions.

The allocation of a new $725 million military aid package for Ukraine was announced by U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on December 2.

Later, the Pentagon disclosed the composition of the new $725m military aid package for Ukraine. The list includes several sections. Thus, as part of the air defense equipment, Ukrainian troops received three Patriot, Avenger, and HAWK batteries and corresponding ammunition, air surveillance radars, mobile laser-guided missile systems, and others.

On 28 November, the first deputy head of the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, Vladimir Dzhabarov, said that the delivery of the new aid package to Ukraine would lead to an increase in escalation.

On 13 November, White House adviser Jake Sullivan said that Biden would request additional funds from Congress to support Ukraine before leaving office.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Kiev amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
