Trump nominated Stevens to be ambassador to the U.K.


US President-elect Donald Trump nominated billionaire and investment banker Warren Stephens for the post of American Ambassador to the UK. The politician announced this on his social network Truth Social.
"I am pleased to announce that Warren A. Stevens, one of the country's most successful businessmen, has been nominated as United States Ambassador to St. James's Court, and in this role he will act as our representative to the United Kingdom," the statement read.
Trump clarified that Stevens has been able to build a "remarkable firm" over 38 years that has been successful in providing various financial services. He noted that the billionaire has long "dreamed of serving the United States."
Earlier, on December 1, Trump appointed Cash Patel, former chief of staff to the US Secretary of Defense, to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Before that, on November 27, Donald Trump said that the special envoy for Ukraine in his administration will be the national security adviser to former Vice President Mike Pence, Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg. The Republican promised that together they would "bring peace through strength and make America and the world safe again."
On Nov. 23, Trump nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to be U.S. Justice Secretary. The president-elect also recognized Bondi's work to stop drug trafficking and reduce the number of drug-related deaths.
On Nov. 20, Trump nominated former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to be the U.S. permanent representative to NATO. He called Whitaker a strong warrior and dedicated patriot and said he would "put America first."
At the time, Trump also proposed nominating Linda McMahon, who led the U.S. Small Business Administration during Trump's first term in office, as the nation's Secretary of Education. McMahon could have headed the U.S. Department of Commerce, but investor and billionaire Howard Lutnick was nominated for the post.
The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 50% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 48.4%. Speaking to supporters afterward, the politician called his goal as head of state the end of military conflicts in the world.
