German journalists were removed from the hall during a meeting between German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock and her counterpart Wang Yi in China. This was reported by Handelsblatt on December 2.

It is specified that it happened after Berbock's question about the Ukrainian conflict. The Chinese side asked to leave the room representatives of the German media and specified that there will be no joint press releases on the outcome of the meeting.

"This happens in China again and again and makes it clear that public criticism is undesirable," the publication said.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Berbok named the goal of her visit to China as the start of the peace process on Ukraine.

At the same time, in her statement on December 1 before her visit to Beijing, Berbok accused China of supporting the Russian Federation, which, according to her, poses a threat to Europe. She emphasized that cooperation between China and Russia is contrary to European interests.

Earlier, on November 26, it was reported that German authorities were ready to transfer two more Iris-T air defense systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). On November 18, Berbock said that the European Union (EU) might impose sanctions against China and Iran for military cooperation with Russia.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
