White House says Biden has confidence in U.S. justice system

U.S. President Joe Biden trusts the country's justice system and does not intend to seek the resignation of the Attorney General, but believes that his son has become an exception and has been unfairly prosecuted. This was stated to journalists by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on December 2.
She noted that the president will not seek the resignation of the attorney general, despite his opinion about the injustice in the case of Hunter Biden.
Jean-Pierre also indicated that she did not see any contradictions in the words of the head of state.
"One can have faith in the Justice Department system and at the same time believe that this trial has been influenced by political processes. That is exactly what the president said," she said.
Earlier in the day, Ike Hamer, a German political scientist and economist with a PhD in economics, said that Biden's decision to pardon his son Hunter and spare him from punishment for criminal offenses against the state has hit the country's reputation in the eyes of both its citizens and the world community.
Reacting to his father's decision, Hunter Biden said that he intended to devote his life to helping people with addictions. In turn, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Izvestia that Hunter's pardon is a caricature of democracy.
Americanist Malek Dudakov, talking to Izvestia, admitted that Biden might pardon his other relatives, for example, his brother James. He also noted that this decision of the American leader sets a precedent - none of the U.S. presidents had initiated pardons for their children before him.
In September, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to nine counts of criminal charges in the case of non-payment of taxes, and in June - on three counts of weapons possession. At the same time, he himself pleaded guilty in the case of tax crimes.
