The Izluchnaya River channel in Dolinsk will continue to be cleared in 2025

In Dolinsk (Sakhalin Oblast) in 2025, they intend to continue clearing the Izluchnaya riverbed, which flooded private houses several years ago. The regional Ministry of Ecology reports about it in its Telegram-channel.
"The process of clearing the riverbed of the Izluchnaya river in the Dolinsky district is currently underway. These works began in 2022 and are planned in two stages", - stated in the message.
As of December 2, 2.2 km of the river bed has been cleared. The specialists also strengthened two bank sections. In total it is planned to clear 3 km of the Izluchnaya riverbed within the city borders.
As SakhalinMedia IA specifies, in August 2020 the Izluchnaya River went out of its banks during summer floods as a result of typhoon "Hagupit". The rising water washed away the bridge, flooded Vilkova Street and all private houses downstream.
