The candidacy of Alexander Dyukov for the post of president of the Russian Football Union (RFU) was nominated by 12 members of the organization. This is reported on December 2 on the website of the RFU.

"The extraordinary conference of the Russian Football Union will be held on February 2, 2025. It will hold elections of the President of the RFU and the new composition of the executive Committee of the RFU", - stated in the message.

Earlier at the executive committee of the RFU Dyukov said that he decided to participate in the presidential election.

It is noted that a candidate can be nominated by at least five members of the organization. Acceptance of documents from members of the Football Union on candidates for the post of President of the organization will continue until December 24.

Before that, on December 2, Dyukov predicted a change in the situation with the admission of Russians to tournaments in 2025. According to him, the attitude towards Russia is changing for the better. The RFU president noted that the change in attitude towards Russian clubs can be seen by the number of national teams that are ready to come to Russia in 2025 to play matches.
