A resident of Yeniseisk was given a suspended sentence for illegal shooting of moose

Yenisei district court of Krasnoyarsk region passed a sentence on a 66-year-old local resident, who shot two moose in prohibited for hunting terms. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

It is established that in April 2024 the man extracted two moose, cut the carcasses and tried to take them out of the forest on a snowmobile, but he was detained by law enforcement officers. According to KrasnoyarskMedia IA, the local resident shot the moose without proper authorization and within the prohibited period for hunting.

The damage amounted to 440 thousand rubles. The court found the man guilty under part 2 of article 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal hunting" and sentenced him to one and a half years of suspended imprisonment. He must also reimburse the amount of damage, and until then, his car was seized.

In late November, a 29-year-old hunter shot a woman by mistake in a forest in the Novosibirsk region. The second victim received a tangential wound to the arm, his life and health are not threatened.
