Iranian President's visit to Russia not expected before the end of the year

Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian's visit to Russia is not expected before the end of the year. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on December 2.
"I do not think that before the end of the year, although if necessary it can be promptly done," - said the spokesman for the Russian leader, answering the question of journalists.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Pezeshkian, the main focus of their conversation was the worsening situation in Syria. The presidents expressed unconditional support for the steps of the legitimate leadership of Syria, which is working to restore constitutional order and territorial integrity of the state.
Before that, on November 19, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said that Iran-Russia relations will remain unchanged even if Tehran concludes a nuclear deal with the European Union (EU) by resuming the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear program (JCPOA).
Addressing Pezeshkian at the BRICS summit in Kazan in October, Putin noted that Iran-Russia ties are on the rise and are friendly. The Russian leader also announced that a Comprehensive Partnership Treaty with Iran will be signed soon. Putin noted that Pezeshkian's first trip to Russia since taking office is symbolic in nature.
