The rating of the most popular destinations for New Year vacation shows a clear leadership of two cities - St. Petersburg (40%) and Moscow (35%). This is stated in the results of the study of platforms "Work.ru" and "SberAuto", which were reviewed by "Izvestia" on December 3.

On New Year holidays Russians would prefer to go to Veliky Ustyug (26%), Karelia (22%), Baikal (25%) and Sochi (21%). Suzdal and Kaliningrad received 19% of votes each. 15% of respondents choose Kazan, 13% - Yaroslavl, and 11% - Nizhny Novgorod.

According to the research of analysts, Russians mainly choose a destination for New Year's vacation because of fascinating attractions, which is indicated by 55%. For 40% of people are important unusual nature, as well as significant history of the region. The availability of diverse entertainment attracts 34% of respondents.

"25% of respondents go where it is easy and convenient to get to, 22% go on a trip for the sake of delicious and interesting food, and 21% of respondents are focused on vacation within an affordable budget. 19% pay attention to a comfortable climate. 11% each said that relatives and friends live in these regions, and there are also many opportunities for winter sports. Another 3% of survey participants choose destinations known for winter sports competitions", - experts noted.

Of the Russians planning a New Year's trip, 39% will go by car, 33% - by train, 17% - by bus, and 11% plan to fly by airplane.

At the same time, 11% of respondents are going to spend up to Br10 thousand on traveling. 13% plan to spend from Br11 thousand to Br20 thousand. Br21 thousand to Br30 thousand will be allocated by 18% of respondents. The budget of Br31-50 thousand indicated 32% of respondents, and from Br51 thousand to Br100 thousand lay down for the trip 19% of Russians. Another 7% expect to spend more than Br101 thousand.

SberAuto experts analyzed the average cost of a car trip from Moscow to the top 5 most popular cities for travel on New Year's holidays. The most expensive is a trip from the capital to Baikal, the average cost will be Br59.4 thousand. In second place is St. Petersburg, which will cost from Br15 thousand per person by plane and from Br4 thousand per person by train. Next in cost is Karelia, the trip will cost from Br19 thousand by plane and from Br5.4 thousand by train.

Earlier, December 2, Project Director of SberStrakhovanie Elena Kosheleva told "Izvestia" about how to prepare for the trip to minimize the risks of unexpected expenses. According to her, it is necessary to start with budget planning.
