An expert has predicted a rise in coffee prices in Russia in the first half of 2025

Coffee prices in Russia will continue to rise in the first half of 2025, Ramaz Chanturia, general director of Roschaikofe, told Izvestia on December 2.
According to him, the cost will increase to varying degrees for different brands. He noted that all companies have different economics, their internal capabilities. In addition, retail prices will be set by stores, which is not in the competence of manufacturers.
The expert added that currently there is a gradual increase in coffee prices on the exchanges.
"We have an unprecedented situation related not only to the increase in the cost of arabica, which has previously occurred in the history of price observations. There have been such values before: in 2011 and before, it happened periodically. But the cost of Robusta has never risen to such values as it is now. The combination of these two factors suggests that this situation is unique. The fact is that both varieties have never cost so much," Chanturia specified.
The expert explained that there are no opportunities to compensate for the increase in the price of arabica by the cost of robusta, as it was done before. As a result, the production cost increases, which will inevitably affect retail prices after the selling prices. Chanturia expressed the opinion that the situation will be difficult in the first half of the year, but then the situation may change.
"The second half of the year, perhaps, if the yield will be better than currently predicted, and consumption in some sense slightly corrected - and it should fall at such high prices - the balance of supply and demand may lead to a relative decrease in the cost of the exchange, first of all, and then it will slowly affect the finished product," - suggested the general director of "Roschaikofe".
Earlier, on November 24, Dmitry Semiryadov, a nutritionist and nutritionist, told Izvestia that two or three cups of coffee give the maximum reduction in the risk of cardiovascular disease. However, caffeine is a stimulant, which, like all other substances of this group, can cause addiction and side effects.
