Five people died in road accidents on the roads of Priangarie during the week

On the roads of the Irkutsk region last week there were 48 road traffic accidents (RTA). Five people died, the regional State Automobile Inspectorate reports in its Telegram channel.

From November 25 to December 1, 61 people also suffered in accidents, including eight minors. All of them received injuries of varying severity.

According to the traffic police, the main cause of accidents last week was the mismatch of speed with road conditions - 13 cases. Also, the accidents were caused by driving on the oncoming traffic, failure to observe the order of passage, incorrect choice of distance or side interval, violation of the rules of crosswalk. In three cases, drunk drivers were at the wheel of the car.

According to IA IrkutskMedia, also in 48 traffic accidents in the region, 70 vehicles were mechanically damaged.

Earlier on December 2, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia informed "Izvestia" that over the weekend there were 501 accidents on the roads of the country, in which 72 people were killed and 679 injured. 17 of the dead were pedestrians, the other 55 were drivers and passengers.
