Organizer of LGBT tours abroad arrested until 28 January

Director of a travel agency, which was engaged in organizing LGBT tours (the movement is recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia) abroad, Andrei Kotov was arrested until January 28, 2025. This was reported by a correspondent of "Izvestia" from the courtroom on December 2.

The man did not admit guilt.

The investigation found that no later than March, the defendant created an extremist community for profit, which promoted the ideology of the LGBT movement, banned in Russia. A criminal case was opened against him under Part 1, 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of activities of an extremist organization").

The detention of the director of the travel agency became known on November 30. It was specified that he had organized several similar tours in eight months.
