Homel Regional Court sentenced an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) with the pseudonym Mongoose, who was supposed to transfer weapons and explosives to Belarus to organize terrorist attacks on its territory, to 10 years in prison. This was reported by BelTA on Monday, December 2.

It is noted that Mangust had been trained to perform his task and was supposed to become "eyes and ears" of the special services of Ukraine. It is specified that two other people - a man and a woman - acted with him.

"The court verdict recognized the guilt of all the defendants. On the basis of part 4 of Art. 295, part 3 of Art. 333-1, Art. 358-1, part 3 of Art. 371, part 2 of Art. 371-1 of the Criminal Code finally Mangust is appointed punishment in the form of 10 years of imprisonment with serving in a penal colony of enhanced regime, as well as 750 basic units of fine," - stated in the message.

The detention of Mangusta by the Belarusian law enforcement agencies became known in January this year. Deputy head of the Investigation Department of the State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus Konstantin Bychek said that Vyacheslav Borodi was recruited by the special services of Ukraine and trained in special training centers of the Ukrainian special services.

According to him, the Ukrainian, on the instructions of the Kiev regime, supplied explosive devices, firearms and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the territory of Belarus.
