The left-wing opposition in the French Parliament has put forward a vote of no confidence in the government because of the decision to adopt the social part of the country's budget without taking into account the opinion of deputies. This is reported on December 2 by BFM TV with reference to the statement of the leader of the faction of the leftist party "Unconquered France" Mathilde Panot.

The vote of confidence in the Cabinet will be held on Wednesday, December 4. The country's government will resign if the initiative is approved by a majority of votes.

At the moment, Marine Le Pen's National Rally party has confirmed that it will support the vote. According to the forecast of the TV channel, this will allow to overcome the necessary threshold for its realization.

Earlier in the day, the head of the party "National Union" Jordane Bardella also promised a vote of no confidence in the French government. According to him, Prime Minister Michel Barnier forgot that he heads the Cabinet, which "does not have a majority in Parliament and democratic legitimacy in the country."

Before that, on November 26, the newspaper Le Parisien, citing sources, reported that French President Emmanuel Macron is preparing for the possible resignation of the French Prime Minister and a vote of no confidence in the current Cabinet. At the same time, the office of the French leader denied these information.

Ex-European Commissioner, former head of the French Foreign Ministry, moderate right-wing Michel Barnier was appointed the new Prime Minister of France in early September. In October, the government of this composition already tried to put forward a vote of no confidence, but then the French parliament rejected it.
