A doctor told about the dangers of mycoplasma pneumoniae

The main danger of the disease is that scarring is possible due to its atypical course. Alexander Umnov, a lecturer at the Department of Fundamental Medical Disciplines of the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, a surgeon, told Izvestia on December 2 about its danger.
"Mycoplasma pneumonia, or atypical pneumonia, is a disease in which not only lung tissue but also extrapulmonary structures are affected," Umnov noted.
According to him, the main threat of Mycoplasma pneumonia is the atypical course, which can lead to the formation of scars in the lung tissue, due to which the respiratory volume of the lungs decreases.
In addition, patients with this disease may experience vomiting, diarrhea, skin rashes and nosebleeds.
"For this pneumonia is characterized by a protracted course with subfebrile fever, dry cough, lack of shortness of breath," - summarized Umnov.
Earlier, on October 23, pediatrician Maryam Sayfulina told Izvestia about the risks of pneumonia. According to the specialist, pneumonia often occurs after other diseases, such as acute respiratory viral infections, which lead to a decrease in immunity.
