Weather forecaster calls mild winter in Moscow and Moscow Region a consequence of warm fall

A warm autumn will be followed by a mild winter in the Moscow region, according to Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center. He told Izvestia on December 2.

The forecaster specified that the past warm fall period is a local phenomenon. Among the consequences of the temperature rise could be a milder winter, a longer summer, a shorter period of frost, in addition, the maximum temperature in the summer months may begin to break records.

"But the process is not smoothly moving towards a rise in temperature, but with its irregularities, then a step forward - two steps back, so it would be a mistake to say that each next year will be warmer than the previous one," - said the expert.

He also specified that in general, due to global warming, the number of dangerous phenomena is increasing, as the wind speed and the amount of precipitation reach dangerous values.
