The case of a panther attack on a boy in Angarsk went to court


The prosecutor's office of Angarsk approved the indictment on the criminal case against the owner of the circus after the attack of a panther on a three-year-old boy. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the Irkutsk region on the website.
"He is accused under part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements of safety of life or health")", - stated in the message.
According to the investigation, the individual entrepreneur from St. Petersburg in October 2024 did not ensure the safety of visitors on the territory of the circus, being the owner of circus animals. Law enforcers concluded that he allowed an unauthorized excursion of a parent and his three-year-old child. During the photo shoot, the panther was released from the enclosure, as a result of which it attacked the boy and caused injuries.
The accused pleaded guilty and paid compensation of 200 thousand rubles to the parents of the victim.
The Investigative Committee (IC) has completed the investigation. The case was sent to the Angarsk city court.
The attack of a panther on a three-year-old child in Angarsk became known on October 29. The incident occurred on October 28, when a parent brought the three-year-old to the private mobile circus "Wild Drive" and decided to take a picture with the predator.
The mother of the three-year-old boy Svetlana told Izvestia about her son's condition. According to her, the child was diagnosed with injuries to the back, arm and leg. He was in the hospital.
