First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa called the decision of the current U.S. President Joe Biden to sign a decree pardoning his son Hunter an outrage.

In a conversation with Lenta.Ru on Monday, December 2, the parliamentarian noted that during his election campaign, even before Vice President Kamala Harris, Biden said that he would not pardon his son and was confident in justice.

"Now he has pardoned him, it means he has admitted that the son is guilty..... And most importantly, it shows the lauded 'democracy' that exists in America today. This is lawlessness," Chepa emphasized.

He admitted that new cases could be brought against Hunter Biden and that US President-elect Donald Trump "will not leave it like that."

On December 1, it became known that Biden pardoned his son Hunter, accused in two criminal cases - weapons possession and non-payment of taxes, calling the process political. According to the President, he kept his promise not to influence the work of the U.S. Justice Department, despite the decision to pardon Hunter, reports NSN. Biden hopes that "Americans will understand such a step," notes IA Regnum.

As 360.ru notes, the list of Biden Jr.'s transgressions was not insignificant. He was incriminated with tax evasion, illegal purchase of weapons, forgery of documents, sexual exploitation, as well as numerous violations with drugs and much more. In total, Hunter was facing, according to some reports, 17 years, and according to others, as many as 25. Trump has already accused Biden of abuse of justice.

In September, the White House said that Biden still does not intend to pardon his son, clarifies RT. As the website kp.ru reminds, this has already happened in the history of the United States, outgoing presidents pardoned relatives from the "inevitability of the triumph of the law". Bill Clinton, for example, pardoned his brother Roger, convicted in 1985 for cocaine trafficking.

In November, Politico wrote that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has a long "revenge list" with the names of people he promised to avenge after winning the election. It includes Joe Biden, his son Hunter, and the rest of the Biden family, Kamala Harris, among others, it noted. On October 24, he allowed that he might pardon Hunter Biden after his victory.
