Putin postponed the Friendship Games until a special decision is made


Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree, according to which the international World Friendship Games have been postponed until a special decision. The decree of the head of state was posted on December 2 on the official portal of publication of legal acts.
"Henceforth until a special decision of the President of the Russian Federation to postpone the international competitions World Friendship Games," the document reads.
The World Friendship Games are international sports competitions in 35 sports. Putin signed a decree on their holding on April 19. The event was scheduled in Moscow and Yekaterinburg for September 15-29, 2024. But on August 23, it became known that the Games had been moved to the summer of 2025 or 2026.
Travis Tygart, director general of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), in a conversation with Russian pranksters on September 25, suggested blackmailing athletes who want to attend the Friendship Games in the Russian Federation with ineligibility for the Olympic Games.
