- In Kazan, a chain of clinics imposed unnecessary treatment on clients for 50 million rubles

In Kazan, law enforcers detained fraudsters who worked in a network of cosmetology clinics and deceived more than 50 people. This was written by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk in her Telegram-channel on December 2.
"The investigator of the State Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan initiated a criminal case on the signs of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Three defendants are taken into custody, another one was elected a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest," - stated in the message.
Volk specified that the attackers imposed medical services on citizens, which they did not need. First, they invited to the clinic for a free examination, which allegedly revealed serious diseases. Subsequent treatment and diagnostics were already paid for. If the victims did not have money, they were offered an installment plan. At the same time, the contract was not provided for familiarization before signing.
Thus, people signed a loan agreement with a high interest rate. The total amount of damage amounted to more than 50 million rubles.
The police conducted more than 20 searches, during which cell phones, instructions for communicating with clients, financial documents and other items of evidentiary value were seized. The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier in the day it was reported that the former assistant of Dr. Andrei Kurpatov Alexey Ievsky was sentenced to six years of general regime colony for major fraud. It was specified that the accused from May 2020 to August 2021 stole more than 33 million rubles, posing as a buyer of Kurpatov's property, including a share in an apartment and four land plots.
