Sobyanin told about the launch of a new overpass in Beskudnikovo

Traffic on the new overpass laid over the railway tracks of MCD-1 in the area of Beskudnikovo station has opened. This was announced by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin in his Telegram-channel.

Opening of the new overpass 650 m long significantly improves the transportation situation in the Northern and North-Eastern districts of the city. The overpass provided a direct passage between 800th Anniversary of Moscow and Inzhenernaya Streets, which, in turn, created a convenient and fast connection with Shirokaya Street and Leningradskoye Shosse. This allowed to significantly increase the transport connectivity of these districts and improve traffic between them.

As the mayor noted, thanks to the overpass, drivers will be able to reduce overrunning by three times, which will have a positive impact on traffic speed and reduce the load on major highways such as the Moscow Ring Road and the MSD. Reducing the traffic load is especially important for unloading the capital's major roads, which in turn will reduce traffic jams and improve the environmental situation.

In addition, during the construction of the overpass, additional road works were carried out in the area, which will further improve conditions for drivers and pedestrians. Overall, this project is an important part of the strategy to improve Moscow's transportation infrastructure and create more convenient and faster routes for the city's residents and visitors.

"Together with the construction of the overpass, we reconstructed Inzhenernaya Street, built new sections of the adjacent streets, and arranged a settling and turning area for ground urban transport near Beskudnikovo station of MCD-1. In total, 5.8 km of roads have been built under the project, noise screens have been installed", - explained Sergey Sobyanin.

A total of 26 highway overpasses have been built and reconstructed in Moscow since 2011. In the next three years seven more will be created.
