Court sentences founder of drug empire to life imprisonment

The organizer of a criminal association was sentenced to life imprisonment for the production and sale of almost a ton of drugs. This was reported on December 2 in the Telegram-channel of the Moscow Region Prosecutor's Office.

Moscow Regional Court on the basis of the verdict of the jury passed a sentence in a criminal case against the founder of the community Stanislav Moiseev and 15 of his accomplices.

According to the investigation, from 2015 to 2018, the criminal group operated on the territory of various regions of Russia and Belarus, and its members were in contact with each other through phone calls and the Internet.

"Sales of narcotic drugs in a contactless way were carried out through cache-layers," - said in the message of the Department.

It is also noted that during searches of places of residence of the defendants, laboratories for the production of illegal substances, used for storage garages and cars equipped with special caches law enforcers seized almost a ton of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

The court sentenced the organizer of the criminal association Moiseyev to life imprisonment with a fine of 4 million rubles. The accomplices were sentenced to imprisonment for terms from eight to 23 years with fines totaling 16 million rubles. They will serve their sentences in correctional colonies of special and strict regimes.

Earlier, November 28, traffic police officers stopped a foreign car, driven by a 36-year-old man. During the inspection of the car, law enforcers found suspicious briquettes, which contained more than 2 kg of heroin. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on November 28.

The suspect said that he took a large batch of the illicit substance from the Moscow region. His plan was to pack and place it in caches in Samara region for sale. A criminal case was opened under article 228.1, part 5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal production, sale or forwarding of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances in especially large amounts") and under article 30, part 3 ("Preparation for a crime"). 3 ("Preparation for a crime and attempted crime").
