Ex-NATO committee head says US plans to weaken Russia have failed

The US plan to weaken Russia by the conflict in Ukraine has not worked, and the situation of the Ukrainian army is getting worse. This was stated by the former head of the NATO Military Committee, retired Bundeswehr General Harald Kuyat in a broadcast on the YouTube channel Flavio von Witzleben on November 29.
"The military situation is critical, and it is getting worse by the day, despite the fact that since the beginning of the conflict we have been supplying Ukraine with state-of-the-art weapons and providing financial support," he said.
According to the general, the US authorities intended to weaken Russia, but this goal was not achieved. Washington is now disappointed with the failure of its plan to weaken the country militarily, economically and politically, Kuyat emphasized.
Earlier, on November 30, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the United States is using all possibilities to prevent Russia from achieving the objectives of the special military operation (SMO), but they will not succeed. According to the diplomat, it is necessary to understand what means the US president has demanded and for what purposes. Ryabkov also noted that this causes non-acceptance on the part of Russia.
Before that, on November 26, the UK Parliament called on US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to ensure negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
On November 6, Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov indicated that the USA would be able to contribute to the end of the conflict in Ukraine, as it is the one who is fomenting it.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
