A pilot project for labeling children's toys has been completed in Russia

A total of 8,583 representatives of the industry, including manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and retailers, took part in the experiment on labeling of goods for children, which took place from December 20, 2023 to December 1, 2024. This follows from the data of the Center for Development of Advanced Technologies (CDPT, the state operator of the labeling system "Honest Mark"), which were reviewed by "Izvestia" on December 2.

In the course of the pilot project, 26 tests were conducted at the production and trading sites of the participants with the involvement of "Honest Mark" specialists. The methods of applying digital codes to the main types of packaging were tested, as well as the processes of turnover and sale of goods were worked out.

"The pilot project was conducted both at the production sites of Russian enterprises and at customs warehouses. In the course of dialog with the industry, approaches to labeling were developed, taking into account the key features of the market: seasonality, a high proportion of small and micro enterprises, and the nuances of import supplies. Thanks to the active participation of industry representatives and the Association of Children's Goods Industry Enterprises, we can confidently say that the experiment was a success," said Revaz Yusupov, Deputy Director General of CRPT.

The Association of Children's Goods Industry Enterprises cited data according to which counterfeit toys currently occupy one third of the market.

On the eve in Russia starts the first stage of mandatory labeling of certain types of canned products. As reported "Izvestia" in the CRPT, December 1 in the system "Honest Mark" was registered 135 companies - manufacturers of canned fish. More than 5.1 million units of products with a special code have already arrived on store shelves.
