Suspected of preparing terrorist attacks in Dagestan arrested for two months


Five suspects in the preparation of terrorist attacks in Dagestan have been remanded in custody for two months. This was reported by the press service of the court on December 2.
"Sovetsky district court of the city of Makhachkala elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention for two months. <...> Until January 29, 2025," the press service said.
It confirmed that there are five suspects, but refused to disclose their names in the interests of the investigation.
According to a RIA Novosti source in the security services, the criminal group was detained earlier in the day. It was formed in the Kizlyar district of Dagestan. The defendants bought components for explosive devices and stored them in a cache, these items were seized.
Earlier, on November 28, a resident of the Chelyabinsk region was detained for public calls to extremism. The regional department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia said that the man published extremist materials in the messenger Telegram. A criminal case under part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for extremist activity, committed with the use of mass media or information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet) was opened against the defendant.
When arrested, the man offered law enforcement officers a bribe, and therefore another case was opened against him - under Part 3 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Giving a bribe to an official"). The defendant was taken into custody.
