Vilfand warned of a nearly snowless week in Moscow


The scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand has predicted an almost snowless week in Moscow.
In a conversation with TASS on Monday, December 2, the expert noted that there will be almost no snow in the capital this week due to high pressure. In the second half of the week it will be very high, only 0.5 mm of snow will fall in the city.
Vilfand noted that the VDNKh station is currently recording 2 cm of snow, in Volokolamsk - 10 cm, in Dmitrov - 3 cm, in Kashira and in New Jerusalem - 2 cm, and in Klin, in Pavlovsky Posad, Serpukhov and Tushino - 1 cm, writes "Moscow 24".
The specialist warned that the snow will not melt due to the preservation of daytime air temperature at 0 degrees Celsius and its decrease at night to negative values.
On the same day, Vilfand noted in a conversation with RT that the temperature in Moscow is considered high for the beginning of December. The temperature background is about 0 degrees, but during the day the thermometer columns will rise even to +2...+2.5 degrees. According to him, the temperature is above normal by 3-4 degrees.
Also on December 2, the head of crisis management department of Rosgidromet Anatoly Tsygankov in a conversation with the agency of city news "Moscow" said that on the night of Thursday, December 5, the air temperature in the capital region will fall to -8 degrees. From December 6 to 8, the weather is expected to be about the same. He added that the cooling will last in Moscow until Sunday.
On the same day forecaster Alexander Shuvalov told 360.ru that in the middle of the week in Moscow and the region will cool down to -5 degrees. The coming days can be called the transition from fall to early winter.
At the same time, leading specialist of the information agency Meteonovosti Tatyana Pozdnyakova told Izvestia that unstable weather will remain in Moscow this week. According to her, no significant precipitation is expected on Tuesday, the daytime and nighttime temperature is 0 degrees Celsius, and on Wednesday the weather will be cloudy with a little snow and a drop in temperature.
