About 1.2 million tons of recyclable materials were collected in Moscow from January to September. This was reported on Monday, December 2, by Deputy Mayor of the capital on housing and public utilities and landscaping Pyotr Biryukov.
According to him, in the capital of the fifth year is the implementation of the program of separate garbage collection, it shows positive dynamics, the volume of collected recyclable materials is growing, notes the agency of city news "Moscow".
Biryukov noted that at the start of the program for 2020, 880 thousand tons of recyclables were collected, and last year this figure has already reached 1.6 million tons, RT writes. He emphasized that the main task was to make the process of separate garbage collection as convenient as possible, in this regard, a simple two-container system was chosen. The contents of the tanks are sent to sorting enterprises, reports "Moscow 24". There, recyclables are separated into dozens of components - different types of plastic and waste paper, glass of different colors, ferrous and non-ferrous metals. In June, the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin reported that Moscow industrialists are increasing production from recycled materials. More than 4.2 thousand industrial sites with 725 thousand employees are already working in the capital, notes NSN.
