TheUS is trying to teach the whole world about democracy, with the country's President Joe Biden using the rest of his term to pardon his son Hunter Biden in several criminal cases. Thus, the American authorities ignored the law and mock law-abiding citizens. Daniil Bessarabov, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, pointed this out in a conversation with Izvestia on December 2.

Biden decided to pardon his son in two criminal cases on Sunday, December 1. He noted that cases like Hunter's are usually resolved with more lenient measures, but his "opponents in Congress" have used the charges against the U.S. leader's presidency. Biden emphasized that his son was targeted solely because of political pressure.

"It becomes frightening that these people around the world teach others about democracy and respect for law. In this situation, the authorities have demonstrated a complete disregard for the law, simply mocking law-abiding and sensible American citizens!" - Bessarabov commented.

Now, he noted, Americans have asked a logical question: "What is the law?" because the president's son was able to avoid punishment for his crimes. Biden's behavior, the interlocutor of the publication emphasized, showed that he has no respect for society and "he doesn't care about the future life of the state", as the observance of laws is a necessary condition for the creation of a just society. Probably, Biden is guided by the statement of the Marquise de Pompadour "After me at least a flood," the deputy suggested.

"It is obvious to the whole world that by doing so, Joe Biden himself committed an official crime, based on selfish motives and the desire to protect his offspring from justice. And this is only a small visible part of the lawlessness that the Biden administration is doing in the most unprincipled way in the last days of its rule," the Russian politician concluded.

Reacting to his father's decision, Hunter Biden said that he intends to devote his life to helping people with addictions. In turn, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Izvestia that Hunter's pardon is a caricature of democracy.

Before that, on October 24, Trump, at that time a presidential candidate, admitted that he could pardon Hunter Biden after his victory. According to the politician, he is able to take such a step, although he himself was severely persecuted by the current authorities. At the same time, the White House has repeatedly denied the possibility of such a decision.

In September, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to nine counts of criminal charges of non-payment of taxes, and in June - on three counts of weapons possession.
