Seven political parties managed to pass the electoral threshold and get into the Romanian parliament. This follows from the preliminary data of the country's CEC after processing 97.25% of protocols from polling stations on Monday, December 2.

As reported by Stirilepro TV channel, only seven parties managed to get into the Senate: the Social Democratic Party (PSD) got 23.29% of votes, the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians (AUR) - 17.92%, the National Liberal Party (PNL) has 14.62%, the Union for the Salvation of Romania (USR) got 11.73%, the party "Save Romania S.O.S" (S.O.S RO) with 7.35%, "Democratic Union of Hungarians of Romania" (UDMR) with 6.66% and the Party of Young People (POT) with 6.01%.

Representatives of the same political forces also passed to the Chamber of Deputies.

On December 1, parliamentary elections were held in Romania. Voting started at 7:00 local time (8:00 Moscow time), all polling stations closed at 21:00 (22:00 Moscow time).

On November 24, the first round of presidential elections took place in Romania. According to official data, independent candidate Calin Georgescu is leading with 22.94% of votes. The leader of the opposition party "Union of Salvation of Romania" Elena Lasconi has 19.17% of votes. There will be a second round of voting as none of the candidates managed to get more than 50%. At the same time, the head of the Romanian Central Election Commission, Tony Greblae, said on November 29 that if the Constitutional Court overturns the results of the first round, it may be held again on December 15.

Commenting on these results, Ruslan Andreev, an expert with the Polylog Group, said in an interview with Izvestia that Georgescu's victory in the first round could harm Ukraine and weaken the position of European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen. The expert said that this Romanian politician is called a little Donald Trump because Georgescu has anti-globalization beliefs and opposes the West's involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.
