Britain, the United States, France and Germany have indicated the need to strive to reduce tensions in Syria, as well as to ensure the safety of civilians. The countries said in a joint statement on December 1, published on the website of the U.S. State Department.

"We are closely monitoring developments in Syria and call on all parties to de-escalate and protect civilians and infrastructure to prevent further displacement and disruption of humanitarian access," the countries' statement said.

The states said that the current escalation once again emphasizes the need for a Syrian-led political solution to the conflict in accordance with the UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution.

Earlier, on November 30, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called the activation of terrorists in Syria part of the US plan against the backdrop of Israel's defeat in Lebanon. He emphasized Iran's continued support for the Syrian government, people and army in fighting terrorism and protecting regional security and stability.

Prior to that, on November 29, the Syrian army eliminated hundreds of terrorists in Aleppo and Idlib. The Syrian army continues its offensive against all points where the militants have gained a foothold. In addition, the army managed to dislodge radical Islamists from part of the positions. The combat work of the Syrian soldiers continues.

On November 28, the Syrian Ministry reported that terrorist groups launched a major attack in Aleppo and Idlib, and the Syrian Army began to repel it, inflicting serious damage to the militants' equipment and manpower.

At the same time, the deputy head of the Central Military Forces in the Syrian Arab Republic, Captain First Rank Oleg Ignasyuk, said that the Syrian military, with the support of the Russian Air and Space Forces, had killed at least 400 radical Islamists.
