Foreign Minister Berbock pointed out the advantages of cooperation with China

Cooperation with China is better for Germany than confrontation, but at the same time Berlin cannot ignore Beijing's support for Russia. German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said this on Dec. 1 before her trip to China.

"Diplomacy is more important than ever, even for those who see things differently than we do. To protect our values and interests, it is important to constantly advocate that cooperation is better than confrontation, but without being naive," Bloomberg news agency quoted the diplomat as saying.

According to Berbok, cooperation between China and Russia is contrary to European interests.

"Instead of assuming responsibility for world peace and security as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China is going against our basic European interests with its economic and military assistance to Russia," the German Foreign Ministry quoted Berbock as saying.

The Minister emphasized that she could not ignore this in relations with China.

Earlier, on November 26, the German authorities are ready to transfer two more Iris-T air defense systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock at a meeting of foreign ministers of the G7 countries in the city of Fiuggi near Rome.

Prior to that, on November 18, Berbock said in Brussels at the Council of EU Foreign and Defense Ministers that the European Union (EU) may impose sanctions against China and Iran for military cooperation with Russia.
