Polish company-operator of the Druzhba pipeline PERN on Monday, December 2, did not rule out any reasons for the pipeline damage, including intent.

"Currently, specialists are busy restoring oil pumping, eliminating the consequences of the leak, as well as finding out the reasons for the incident," a company representative told RIA Novosti.

He said that until the end of the internal investigation no versions are excluded. Including versions about intentional damage to the pipeline, as well as a version of a purely technical reason for the incident.

The fuel leak at the Druzhba oil pipeline in Poland became known earlier, on December 1. During the investigation, it was found that there was a spill of an oil-like substance in the field. PERN preventively shut down one of the pumping substations.

The Druzhba pipeline runs through Russia to the Belarusian city of Mozyr. It then branches into two strings: the northern one to Poland and Germany, and the southern one through Ukraine to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Croatia.
