Defense Ministry shows footage of the destruction of unexploded shells of the AFU in the Kursk region

On December 2, the Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the destruction of unexploded shells of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in Kursk Region by servicemen of the engineering-sapper unit of the "North" group of troops.

In the video, servicemen of the engineering-sapper units are engaged in neutralization of ammunition left by the AFU fighters. After the retreat of the enemy in the area left a lot of unexploded shells, as well as various traps.

"Five sappers in one department. Small groups throughout the settlement set tasks were. Large clusters do not do. Produced a small group on demining," - commented the commander of the demining group with the call sign Black.

The sappers check the territory meter by meter, extracting from the funnels of rocket warheads, striking unexploded elements, boosters, control units and electronic parts of ammunition.

During the inspection, an unexploded munition of NATO manufacture was found. To ensure the safety of civilians, sappers carried out its destruction on the spot.

"A lot of NATO ammunition, grenade launchers of all kinds, anti-tank grenade launchers are also all NATO-made. A lot of equipment was also exactly with NATO symbols," - said a senior sapper with the call sign Anchor.

All detected explosive objects are transported to a specialized polygon or destroyed on the spot with a superimposed charge.

Earlier, on November 23, Russian sappers demined a road in the border area of Kursk Region. They are checking infrastructure facilities for explosive objects and demining roads, paving the way for assault units in the border region.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the AFU continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
